Halloween Chalkboard Sign

   Make this personalized chalkboard decor sign for any occasion!

1.  Collect your supplies. Most of these great items are available in The One Spot.
           + chalkboard sign
           + chalk
           + tags
           + twine
           + alphabet stickers
           + scissors
           + hot glue gun
         

2.  Write your message on the chalkboard using a chalk stick.

3.  Decorate the tags with alphabet stickers and string onto the jute twine. Trim off the excess twine. Attach the jute twine to the back of the chalkboard with hot glue and allow to dry. Your chalkboard decor sign is now complete! 

Video Instructions: Felt Flower Gift Bag

Felt Flower Gift Bag

Make this decorative burlap bag for someone special. A pretty layered flower completes the look for perfect gift giving!

1.  Collect your supplies. Here is what we used:
           + felt (large enough to cut a piece that measures 12" x 2.5")
           + sewing thread
           + sewing needle
           + pinking shears
           + baker's twine
           + hot glue gun
           + burlap pouch
           + cardstock

2.  Follow these simple steps to make the felt flower 

              A. Cut a 12" x 2.5" felt strip. We used felt, but try other fabrics for a variety of textures.

              B. Use pinking shears to cut along one long edge of felt.

              C. Using the pinked edge as a guide, cut thin strips leaving about .25" of felt at the top.

              D. Thread needle and knot end. Loosely stitch along the top edge to gather felt. Pull tight to

                   form flower and knot ends to secure. 

            

         For a more full flower, repeat steps A-D above & secure flower layers with glue.

3.  Cut a long piece of twine and wrap around 2" wide card stock 50 - 75 times. Remove wrapped

twine loop from card stock and knot a smaller piece of twine around center of twine loop. Snip and trim both loop ends to create desired pom shape. 

4.  Glue flower to center of burlap bag, then glue pom to center of flower. Your bag is now ready to be filled with your favorite things!

Glass Jar Gift

Tinted glass and a paper wrapped lid make this a great item with so many uses! Give as a personalized gift in a keepsake glass jar or use for decoration.

1.  Collect your supplies. Some of these great items are available in The One Spot (We gathered other materials from our supply closet):

           + glass jar

           + paper shreds

           + specialty paper

           + alphabet stickers

           + labels

           + twine

           + Mod Podge

           + paint brush

           + pencil

           + scissors

2.  Pick your favorite paper and flip it over. Place the jar lid in the center of the circle (upside down) and trace the outer edge. Remove the jar lid and draw a 1 inch circle around the lid.

3.  Cut 1/4 inch slits in between the outer circle and the inner circle making sure not to cut into the center. Apply Mod Podge to the center inner circle and place metal lid upside down on top of paper. Now coat 2-3 strips at a time and fold around metal lid edge. Coat the top of the lid with Mod Podge and allow to dry.

4.  Secure label to jar and decorate with alphabet stickers and jute twine. Personalize your jar with any final details. Your decorative jar is now complete!

Kraft Flower Box

A kraft box makes the perfect indoor planter. Get ready for spring with fresh flowers and a little creativity.

1.  Collect your supplies. Here is what we used:

           + foam sheet
           + ink pad
           + clear stamping block
           + two metal pails
           + two small plants
           + two mini clothes pins
           + two gift tags
           + pencil
           + quarter
           + glue
           + scissors
           + paper shreds
           + kraft box

2.  Start by designing your stamp. We made a polka dot pattern and used a quarter as a circle template. Trace the quarter onto the foam sheet using a pencil. Any shape will work and imperfections make stamping more fun! Once you have your design penciled in, cut it out and secure with glue to your clear stamping block.

3.  Use your stamp to design a pattern on all sides of the kraft box. We used metallic silver ink but any metallic or contrasting ink color works well. Test your stamping skills on scratch paper before stamping the box for practice.

4.  Personalize your box with gift tags. We wrote the plant names onto the tags with a metallic marker. Embellish your tags in other ways too, have fun with it. Once your tags are decorated, re-plant flowers into metal pails. Line your box with paper shreds and enjoy springtime blooms inside your home.

Decorative Glass Bottles

Vintage inspired glass bottles make entertaining more exciting! Follow the steps below & customize your own glass bottles:

1.  Collect your supplies. Be creative with what you use. 

           + glass bottle with hinged lid

           + foil sticker sheet

           + scissors

           + half inch circle punch & hole punch

           + baker's twine

           + gift tags

           + metal hinge clip

           + sharpie marker

2.  Punch and cut your desired sticker shapes and apply to bottle. Use circle shapes or your own design.

3.  Peel off adhesive backing and apply stickers to bottle. It may help to test your design layout on paper before peeling off the adhesive.

4. Complete your bottle by wrapping the baker's twine around the top. Decorate your gift tags and attach to the bottle using the metal hinge clip. Your bottle is party ready!
